The CWYC Experience
My experience with the Central Whidbey Youth Coalition (CWYC) dates back to my 6th grade year in 1999, when I was simply a student aboard the annual Cutty Sark Sailing Excursion, provided by CWYC. It was an awesome opportunity for me, personally, to be able to go on this ship and travel the waters of my home, as well as learn sailing and camping skills. Then, I did not realize the important role that the CWYC played in setting up this unique opportunity for Coupeville youth. The students of the Central Whidbey area do not realize how lucky they are to have the opportunities that they have. It takes a dedicated bunch of individuals to make a successful Coalition, and I feel that CWYC has a bunch more of exciting opportunities up their sleeve in the future! Future Coupeville youth, you have nothing to fear! CWYC is here!

CWYC Connects me to the Community
The CWYC has allowed me the opportunity to get a closer perspective on the relationships between children, adults, and the community in general. It has given me the chance to see how much my community supports youth and their achievments. I enjoy being a part of the CWYC because it gives me the feeling that I am really doing something for my community. Larry and the rest of the board make me feel like I am an important person on the board (and I thank them for that). Without the CWYC, I truly believe that my hometown would not be the town it is today. The board does such a great job at targeting needs of our town and successfully creating a plan in order to fix it for the better. I am so thankful to part of that!
